There exists an ancient temple located on the shores of the river Nethravathi. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and consists of a golden lingam. The temple provides an avenue to obtain spiritual guidance through the power of Lord Shiva. Additional sites of interest are: EtinaBhuja; Jenkal; and Bisle Ghat.
EtinaBhuja is a relatively new area that provides a trekking option for beginners as well as experts and is located in close proximity to Dharamshala. The entire mountain range is often referred to as Shishila Gudda.
A journey represents a quest for spirituality that reflects the richness of the culture of India, which agrees with the concept that every journey is a search for spiritualism. There is an ancient temple that was not in its original location, but was placed incorrectly in its present location, which most people refer to as the Kalabhairaveshwara temple.
The 800 year old temple is also familiar to most people in the area by another name, “Mane Devru.” Since the temple is so closely associated with many people’s lives, it has maintained its sanctity and importance to those who live near it. It is located approximately 2-3 km towards Mudigere from Kottigehara. The sign directing visitors to the temple indicates that you need to take a right turn and travel twelve kilometers to reach the temple.
The road to the stunning temple also provides the calming view of the small green hills that surround it. The temple itself has a lovely pond placed on one side with a hill in the background. It will take about five to ten minutes’ hike to reach the top of Devaramane point, which is quite an adventure and can be a fun time! This location is approximately 200 metres from the temple.
